This is what I woke up to this morning!!!!!!!!!!
The girls slept with me last night as it was daddies night to work. Kortney said she needed to set the alarm. So, I said okay. We generally always wake up on time for church but, I thought oh well. I heard the alarm go off around 6:30am. She popped up out of bed and the next thing I heard was the sound of dishes. She was loading the dishwasher. Wasn't that sweet? Then around 7 she came and got Madison and said it was time to help. They came in and asked me a few questions so, I knew something was up but, wasn't sure what. Michael came in @ 7:30 and I jumped in the shower. He helped them with the final "cooking" part of it. After I got out it was time for me to head to the kitchen. They had made me pancakes (from scratch) using Madison's Strawberry shortcake cookbook. They had thought since we had fresh strawberries (thanks Mary) that it would be nice to cook from that book. So, I had pancakes with syrup and strawberries cut over them. Again, aren't they sweet???
After eating it was time to open presents. The kids got me several cooking items such as a new "LARGE" skillet, knives, silverware and cutting board. Geez..what do you think they are trying to say?? HMMM let me see maybe they want me to cook more??
I will but, NOT today. :)
Not only did I have a great day with my family but, received this beautiful card from my foster mom on the 9th. I was SOOOO excited when I got this. She is such a wonderful lady. I think of her and the love she gave my little boy daily. Yet, again another blessing I did not know I would receive while we journeyed to our son.
We ended the evening going to church, listened to Kortney and the rest of the Youth from iTeamz sing and heard a great sermon. Joshua and Madison were both in there to hear there big sister sing. For the very 1st time ever when Joshua saw Kortney up there he started to have a fit. I must admit she had a huge smile on her face from that. But, like any good mother and any good boy food was there and it helped his "tough" time. :)
As Bro. Dan began reading from the bible my little man started in. I wasn't going to attempt the food I just took him straight out. Tonight's sermon was about a lady and the faith she had. As I listened oh how I hoped my children saw faith in me. How I long that one day they can say that through the power of Jesus and only him they saw that there mother indeed had faith. Not only talked about it but, LIVED IT. Talking and doing are 2 totally different thing. I know I'm an imperfect mother but, pray that daily God will teach me how to be more like him.
As I stated before Joshua had a bit of a fit so, I couldn't take Kortney's picture at church so, the next best thing was in the van waiting for our food at Parker's. Hey it's Mother's Day did you think I was going to cook?????
Madison and Joshua trying to wait patiently for there food. As you can see Joshua started on an appetizer of "cereal" before the main dish. :)
Even though I had a wonderful day with my kids I hurt. It pained me to think about Joshua's birth mom and what she is going through. Yes, I know yesterday was Mother's Day in Guatemala but, to think about her and the pain she endures everyday is saddening to me. Then there's our foster mom. The lady who took in this child. A child she didn't know and loved him with all of her heart. These are 2 amazing ladies. One I've met and the other I have only seen pictures of but, they are both FOREVER a part of my memories and my family.
My tears and sadness just didn't stop there. They continued on with my waiting mommies. The mommies out there who are longing to have there child home. The mommies who are longing to tuck there children in at night, kiss and hug them, just be there for them each and every day. Guatemala adoption is so very difficult right now. Even though these parent knew that it was a hard time they still moved forward. They are doing everything they can for there children. After all isn't that what we are suppose to do when we love them? I ask that you join me in praying for these beautiful children and there families. May God unite them FOREVER in his own perfect timing. Until this timing occurs may the families find peace in our heavenly father and the children find love in the arms of there foster moms and orphanage workers.
Wishing everyone a GREAT evening and a Feliz dia de la Madre to all my "new" mommies and mommies in waiting.
