Surreal

That word has popped in my mind several times today. Today on this very day Joshua and I went to meet Beth and Isabella Faye. Isabella Faye is a little girl whom I've been praying for for quite sometime now. A little girl who lived 14 mths. in Guatemala. A little girl whom I grew to love through merely pictures and the loving words from her mother. But, today had finally came. IF (as we call her) has been home with her forever family now for 2 glorious months. We've wanted to meet for sometime but, just hadn't but, again I say TODAY was the day.

Joshua and I headed out a little after 9am. We stopped off at a couple places then hit the road @ 9:30. Prior to leaving I packed some tissue in my purse because YES I am just that sappy. We pulled into Garcia's about 11:25am (we arrived earily but, sadly I turned the wrong way off the exit...oops) and there I saw them walking in the door. We parked quickly, unloaded and went in. A nice gentleman just pointed us around and boom there they were. Both probably doesn't even know this (but, will now) but, when I saw them tears started to form. Thankfully, Beth's hug pulled them back in. We had a great time sitting there visiting and eating there wonderful food. It came time to leave so, Joshua being the kind man he is bought 2 ring pops (1 for there and 1 for the road). Actually, I think he purchased these in case he decided to pop the big question. :) We left Garcia's and headed to Beth and IF's house. I must say that the kids played wonderfully together!!! They shared as well as any 2 yr. and 16mth. old could do. As Beth and I talked and watched the kids play I could feel my heart swell in utter joy!!!!!! As I too experienced with Joshua it was like little IF's picture had come to life. I wasn't just looking at a picture nor reading one of Beth's blog posts about her she was really here. Really, in the FLESH!!!!!! I was really able to hold, rock and kiss her. She is such a beautiful little girl full of so much life and love. Her smile could melt anyone's heart and that tummy let me tell you she is a pillsbury dough girl in the making. :) One thing I was quite thrilled to see is the fact that Joshua is taller than IF. I know it's sad to be excited about something as small as that but, hey when your fella's a little short being taller than SOMEBODY (yes, even if it is a 16mth old girl) is HUGE!!! Well, it got to be a little later in the day (actually, it was my dad calling saying it was suppose to rain later and he was worried about me) so, it was time to say our goodbyes. I held sweetums one more time and gave her some more kisses. Joshua, gave his kisses away to her again and we hit the road.

Headed home tears started streaming. As I listened to my contempary christian music I was again in awe of what God had done. His promise to Beth and John had been fullfilled. Again, PRAISE GOD for bringing this little girl FOREVER home.

Okay, sappy stuff is over. Now, let me see who I've had the honor of meeting Julie O. (Gavin's mommy), Beth (IF's mommy) and Sharon (AnnaMaria's mommy). Ummmm now let me see who else is out there that I MUST meet. Oh yes, it's Amy C. (Samantha and Geovany's mommy) and Courtney (Elijah's mommy). Ladies, I don't know how, when or where but, I will not quit believing that God brought us all together for more than just our children. You all have FOREVER changed my life.

As always let's keep praying these kids home. My prayer is that every family can experience this "surreal" moment.

Tabitha got to meet Elijah twice...once on our visit trip and then again at pick up! Wish we lived closer, we'd like to meet people too! Just think if we were still in Southern Illinois you'd only be about an hour away! Someday.
