I just had to share this with you. We got in from church Sunday the kids changed there clothes, ate lunch and went to play. I was in here on the computer as usual..YES, I know I NEED HELP but, that's for another time...and here came my kiddos. I turned around and saw the 2 of them. I said, "What in the world are you doing"? Kortney responded by, "We're acting like we are in Guatemala and this is my child". I'm sorry but, I thought this was the CUTEST thing. I LOVE how my kids are taken such a GREAT pride in there brothers heritage. We talk about him all the time and about the great things they learned while over in Guatemala. Since, we've been home the kids have started back to school. On there 1st day they didn't want to wear a "NEW OUTFIT" they wanted to wear there shirts from Guatemala, a necklace and handmade headband. I asked, "Why do you want to wear this? I will go buy you a new outfit." They both said, "they wanted to wear the shirts so, people would ask about them. Then they could tell about there trip and there new brother waiting for them in G." I thought that was SO sweet. I truly honored to be there mother!! Please enjoy this pic. it continues to bring a HUGE smile to my face.
Oh, and I must share this. Madison started riding the bus to school this week. You see this is such a major accomplishment in our home. Last year in Kindergarten she had a VERY hard time and when I say VERY HARD I mean it. The poor thing cried for 2 months going to school. She was having a BIG problem being away from mommy. So, this year she just cried for 4 days and then started on the bus. When she came home from her 1st big day on the bus..mind you she is on it just 5-10 minutes....we let her pick out our dinner for the evening. She picked chicken nuggets, mac'n cheese, mashed potatoes and chips. Yes, I know you don't have to say it. We let her pick a "special dessert" and that was raw brownie mix. YES, RAW BROWNIE MIX!! Ever so often I let my girls lick the spoon and that's what she wanted. Sorry, this story has gone on longer than expected. But, the cute thing is daddy told her she's had enough. Madison commented back with, "But, daddy I've only had cuatro bites." Michael, looked shocked and said, "Maybe you've had ocho". Then she responded back with, "NO daddy not ocho okay maybe cinco." I'm sorry but, this was SO CUTE!!!!!! She was using her "small realm" of Spanish on her daddy. Mind you she didn't get anymore and was up for a bit. We definitely won't be doing that again.
I also, asked her who she sat with at lunch and she said, "You will NEVER guess." I said, "well, who was it". She told me it was her "new" Guatemalan friend. She is thrilled that there is a little girl in her class from Guatemala. She also told me that her teacher asked everyone if they have any brothers of sisters. It got to her time and she said that she has 2 sisters. Then she looked at me and said, "mommy I didn't tell her about brother." I said, "That's okay but, asked her why she didn't". She told me that she didn't want her "new" friend to miss her old home back in Guatemala. She thought it would make her sad to hear that. Isn't that just the sweetest thing you have ever heard? Yet, again I say I AM SO PROUD OF MY KIDDOS!!!! God, has blessed me more than I ever deserve.
Please continue to pray for Joshua and ALL the other waiting mommy and daddy's. Thank you and God Bless.

Kelly~
Your girls are such a blessing and it so good to hear how proud they are of their new brother. Bailey came to me the other day and said that God spoke to her in a dream. I asked her about what and she said that she was walking in Guatemala and she saw a man break a pipe to drink the water. She said the water was dirty. She thinks that God wants her to find a way to give Guatemalans clean water. I told her I think it was just a dream and she said nope I think it was God. I was so very prod of her at that moment... so I can completely relate. Wishing your girls a wonderful school year and praying their brother is home very soon !
God Bless~

Kelly,
Thank you so much for sharing those stories about your daughters! And I loved the picture - definitely brought a smile to my face, too.
And I love the jungle bedding - it is just perfect. I can't wait to see pics of Joshua's room when its all done.
I am praying for all of you and hoping you get that OUT call soon.
With endless HOPE,
Heather
What a great story. Was reminded that we need to treasure every moment along this road. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in bringing our daughter home that I miss what God is doing right here, right now. Thanks for sharing and reminding me to enjoy what I have.
Blessings,
