VBS and Birthday Party boy, I'm tired

This years VBS theme was Outrigger's Island. It's like a Hawaiian "island" kind of thing. So, decorating should be easy. Right? Well, NOT for me. I am NOT an artistic kind of person. I can give you ideas all day but, putting them out there are 2 totally different things. Thankfully, my friend Theresa was there to help me. I must admit that our rooms turned out pretty cute. Before, you say anything YES I know there's MUCH more to VBS than just the decorations. :)

I had my usual Pre-K age group. These kids are 4 and 5 year old that will be or can go to Kindergarten this fall if there parents choose to send them. I had 19 little sweetie's in my room last week. The kids all had a really good time. I must admit that I get a little "nervous/worried" towards the beginning of VBS. I worry about making sure the kids listen to the bible story, worry about whether or not I bought enough crafts and if they will last long enough and the other "little" worries of VBS. Whenever I start worrying about ME I remove the power of GOD. The thing is I ALWAYS need to remember to change the I to GOD. It is HE who will make the crafts work out, it is HE who will group the kids together and most importantly it is HE who will put the words in my mouth needed for bible study time and it is HE who will have the children to listen. Man, life is SO much easier when it's NOT about ME and about HIM!!!!!!!!!

PRAISE BE TO GOD....we had 35 children saved at VBS. We had 32 from our VBS (K-4th grade) and VBX (5th and 6th) and 3 from Breakaway (7th-12th).

We ended this glorious week with our program on Sunday. The kids did a really good job. When it came time for decision we had 5 of the children that accepted Christ come forward. I must admit every time I see someone (young or old) come up I get a little teary eyed. I picture in my mind the Heaven's rejoicing. What a GLORIOUS picture that truly is.

I've added some photos and a video clip of one of there songs they sung. In case people can't recognize her Madison is the one in the plaid shorts. I hope you all enjoy.

***************************BIRTHDAY PARTY***********************************

After a busy yet, fun filled week of VBS it was time for my nephew Talon's 8th birthday party on Saturday. So, we headed over to there house for some outdoor fun, good grilled burgers, hot dogs and those "goodie" extras.

The kids all had a really good time. Talon had a few of his good "guy" friends over. So, with that being said Madison was a little shy when she got there but, after a few minutes she joined in on the slip-n-slide fun. Joshua, on the other hand went in full force.

I've put together some pictures and video of our fun day. I hope you enjoy.

Glad to hear you survived. I agree, when we worry, we take God's job and that's usually not a good thing! Looks like you came through with flying colors!

Baseball is almost over and we're going camping. Trying to get trailer cleaned and packed and ready to go. Looking forward to chatting with you soon!

Love ya!

Looks like the kids had a great time! Our VBS is the middle of next month, and I can't wait to introduce Brayden to what was one of my favorite summer pastimes (and the place where I learned much about Jesus).

Thanks for sharing!
